A free lecture entitled &#8220;History Teaches Us to Hope: Drawing Inspiration from the Shenandoah Valley\u2019s Civil War&#8221; begins at <b>7 p.m. in Halpin-Harrison Hall, Stimpson Auditorium, Shenandoah University<\/b>. Assistant Professor of history and Director of the Center for Civil War History at Lord Fairfax Community College Jonathan A. Noyalas is the guest speaker. <\/p>\n<p>Jonathan Noyalas is the author or editor of eight books on Civil War Era history and has also written scores of essays, book chapters, articles and reviews for scholarly and popular publications such as <i>America\u2019s Civil War, Civil War Times, Blue &#038; Gray, Civil War News<\/i>, and <i>Hallowed Ground<\/i>.  In March 2012 he served as chair of the sesquicentennial conference on Stonewall Jackson\u2019s 1862 Valley Campaign and will chair the National Historic District\u2019s Sesquicentennial conference in 2013.
