![]() This later 19th century townhouse was built by James Striker. According to deed research, James Striker (or Stryker) purchased the lot prior to the 1840s. The land passed to his son (also named James Striker) in 1877, and the house remained in the possession of his heirs until 1919. The house itself is speculated to have been built after 1875. Not much is known at the present about the Striker family, other than a passing mention in Russell's What I know About Winchester that the junior James Striker married the daughter of butcher Gilbert Noakes. This vernacular townhouse has a unique feature not seen on any other Revolving Fund properties. Instead of clapboard siding, the house instead sports wooden shingle siding. This feature is protected by a special exterior covenant.
